Born and raised in Chennai, Jaimeena completed her masters in Corporate Secretaryship from Alagappa University. She enjoys reading fiction, cooking, baking and crocheting in her free time.

In 2014, she joined Newgen as a Project Management Lead for the Palgrave Macmillan and Bloomsbury teams. In two years, she moved on to manage the acquisitions and marketing support teams for Anthem Press. This was a learning phase, and she enjoyed the challenges she faced as she learnt to manage functions that were earlier unfamiliar to her.

In 2021, she moved to the Thomson Reuters team to put to use the things she learnt thus far in terms of acquisition and marketing support and continues to provide support in these areas as a senior manager for the legal division of the India and Malaysia teams since January 2022.

Life at Newgen has been a learning process for her. As a newcomer with no knowledge about book publishing, she managed to survive only with the help and guidance of her seniors, namely, Asha Boaz, Bhavana, Ashokumar, Vidhya Gowrishankar (aka Srividhya), Lydia, Vidya Jayaprakash, Vijaya and also with the support of all her project managers and team members.

She finds Newgen to be a place to learn new things, particularly under her current manager, Srividhya. She considers herself fortunate enough to have an opportunity to work with her and learn a whole lot of things.

Some of her happy or proud moments include the times she successfully completed some rush titles on time. Another proud moment for her was when she set up a title with the printers for the first time as part of her sales and marketing support role.

At Newgen, she loves the friendly atmosphere and the work-from-home option that existed even before Covid. The culture in Newgen is like that of a close-knit family. The tremendous support and team work in Newgen, according to her, is simply awesome!
