The freedom to learn more and be more . . .

Nanditha Devi, B. M.
Project Manager

After completing my post-graduation in Queen Mary's College, I came to Newgen with a friend of mine who was working here as a proofreader. I came here with a little fear as I was very new to the office environment. After 15 days of working here as a proofreader, I was promoted to QC. From my time here, I came to learn about typesetting and a little more about the company. Within the year, was promoted again to be a team lead. I handled Oxford University Press books as a team lead for about 6 months. Due to personal and health issues I had to step down from my role as a team lead to QC again. In 10 years, I have worked as a QC, training manager, production manager with different departments and publishers. For the past 2 years I have been working with the Thomson Reuters – Malaysia team as a project manager.

Life in Newgen is very beautiful. Over the years, I've made a lot of good friends and I personally find the office environment to be very safe for women. I remember the time I got my first negative feedback from a client a year after I joined Newgen. I had missed two articles during collation and it proved to be a huge learning experience for me. I learnt that day how to read client emails with care. Since then the learning hasn't stopped and I'm learning new things every day. Newgen has given me plenty of opportunities to grow. I got the chance to recruit people for the post of QC for 6 months and also to train them while I was a training manager. I received a quality award as a project manager for the year 2020–2021. These are some of my cherished memories.

What I like most about Newgen is its friendly environment and the freedom to learn more. Newgen's unique values are its best training methods and the culture of providing a safe and secure place for women.
